Wet Markets, Worldwide, Must Be Shut Down

Published: May 28, 2020 at 05:39 AM Author: PENNY EIMS

Wuhan, China – By now, you have undoubtedly heard the term “wet markets.” It is believed that the novel coronavirus, aka Covid-19, started in a wet market in Wuhan, China. The deadly virus has now impacted nearly every country across the globe, with over 1.3 million infected and over 78,000 people dead. Tragically, these numbers are expected to continue to climb dramatically.

It is time for these wet markets to be shut down worldwide! Please sign the petition, which will be sent to the World Health Organization (WHO). Your comments are encouraged as well – it is time for an end to these cruel and dangerous markets, enough is enough!

Wet markets are filthy operations which create a breeding ground for disease. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has weighed in on the subject, recently telling a news agency:

“I think we should shut down those things right away,” adding, “It boggles my mind how when we have so many diseases that emanate out of that unusual human-animal interface, that we don’t just shut it down. I don’t know what else has to happen to get us to appreciate that.”

Wet markets are in many countries – including the United States. In fact, there are wet markets in the hub of the United States Covid-19 outbreak, New York City.

Live animals are kept at these open-air slaughterhouses in unsanitary and inhumane conditions. After a customer selects the animal they want, the bat, snake, rat, alligator or any other living creature, is killed in public, with no regard to cleanliness. Animals at these vile markets are kept in cages stacked on top of each other. They are slaughtered in public areas, with no concern for splattered feces, urine, or blood, which contaminates everything in the vicinity.

Please add your name to the petition. We want to let the World Health Organization know that we are sick and tired of these markets and we need for them to be shut down – EVERYWHERE!
