January 6: Please see update (in red, at the bottom of the petition) for the latest news about this situation!
Montgomery, TX – Unbelievable cruelty has been taking place at property in Montgomery, Texas, where dogs have been allowed to ruthlessly rip apart and kill other dogs. The detestable situation has been ongoing at a property on South Hall Drive, and though residents have contacted the authorities, nothing was done to rescue the dogs.
A witness states:
Everyday these people let these dogs kill other dogs they will bag them up and put them in trash cans they bag them up in black plastic trash bags and throw them away like garbage. Whenever they get called on they hide the big dogs that are killing the little dogs. The person that did the video has children they have called multiple people have called and still nothing has been done we need as many as callers as we can get to call the end to animal cruelty.
The graphic video shows multiple dogs savagely attacking another dog who is helpless to defend himself (click here to view the video on Instagram – it is graphic and difficult to watch).
The dog brutalized in this video did not survive. A subsequent video shows the deceased dog motionless on the ground – dead after the agonizing attack.
Prior to the publication of this petition, Animal Victory contacted the local authorities. Our team learned that the situation was being investigated by Investigator Gonzalez. However, the person Animal Victory spoke with would not give any other information about the case – and even refused to provide the investigator’s first name.
We the undersigned demand that the people responsible for the ongoing cruelty and neglect of these dogs face charges and jail time. The person(s) responsible for allowing these attacks must have all pets permanently removed from their care. This petition acts as our collective endorsement for the maximum penalty allowed by law for any charges stemming from these despicable acts of animal cruelty.
Individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Animal Victory relies upon the authorities and the court system to determine guilt or innocence.
Update March 8, 2024: Animal Victory sent petition to the DA and Sheriff.
Update January 6, 2024: The local officials have taken action! 37 dogs and 14 puppies have been seized from the property; the dogs are malnourished and have other “medical issues.” The dogs are currently in the custody of the Houston SPCA and the situation is under investigation by detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 and sheriff’s deputies. In a release, the sheriff’s office stated:
